Saitama And The Underground Gang Didn’t Meet Blast In The
OPM Webcomic

One-Punch Man became a household name after his great success. It is, after all, very effective meme material. It also has a lot of funny moments, most of which satirize or parody common superhero tropes. Even now, his newer manga updates continue to make waves and entertain his loyal fans.

While One-Punch Man may be known as a manga or anime series, its actual source material is actually a webcomic created by ONE.

Eyeshield 21 mangaka Yusuke Murata adapted it into a manga series. Murata does a great job of giving the series a visual overhaul. The art style isn’t the only thing he’s changed, though. There are also noticeable differences between the two mediums, even though everything approves of ONE.

1. The OPM webcomic does not show the effects of Saitama’s power

One of the few times One-Punch Man readers have witnessed Saitama’s true abilities is when Genos asks the bald hero for a match. Despite Saitama going full force at his master, he didn’t bat an eye. When Genos finally finished his flurry of attacks, Saitama retaliated. However, he stopped just before he hit his student. In the manga, the blast effect of Saitama’s punch was shown despite stopping, eventually convincing Genos of how powerful Saitama was. However, the webcomic did not have this scene. Saitama simply left after performing his move.

2.Prisoner Puri-Puri’s majestic angel wings are missing from the OPM webcomic

Prisoner Puri-Puri might not seem like a reliable hero, but when the going gets tough, he can handle it. One such scenario is when the King of the Deep appeared. The monster was threatening the surface and causing devastating damage, and Puri-Puri Prisoner was one of the heroes to face it. During their duel, Puri-Puri unleashed a flurry of blows. But before that, he first did a pose in the manga where angel wings seemed to sprout from his back. That wasn’t in the webcomic.

3.Boros Kicking Saitama To The Moon Is A Manga Exclusive

Yet another epic moment that happened during one of Saitama’s matches was when Lord Boros kicked him to the moon. It’s the perfect scene to show just how powerful the alien invader is, and it also shows Saitama’s strength again. But while Boros let Saitama have it in the webcomic, Boros didn’t send him to the moon. Boros simply attacked Saitama continuously until Saitama finally retaliated and defeated the alien invader.

4. The Holy Order of the Sword does not exist in the OPM webcomic

The Holy Order of the Sword was the Atomic Samurai organization she belonged to. It was supposed to be a gathering of the most powerful swordsmen in the One-Punch Man world. Unfortunately, most of them met their end in a duel with the Monster Association.Although only Atomic Samurai lives among the other swordsmen, it is now closer to the source material as the Holy Order of the Sword does not exist in the webcomic.

5. The entire Super Fight tournament is only added to OPM Manga

Saitama once joined a martial arts tournament, but not for fame. As any fan of the series would have guessed, Saitama did it for a financial reward. He even impersonated Charanko to qualify.Saitama was busy participating in this tournament as the Monster Association wreaked havoc outside. The tournament was eventually infiltrated by monsters, forcing it to an abrupt end. Unfortunately, the entire arc is not featured in the webcomic. It’s also just a manga exclusive.

6. Saitama vs. Orochi didn’t exist either

Another highlight during the Hero Association vs. Monster Association fight was Saitama’s battle against the Monster King Orochi. Unsurprisingly, Saitama ended their battle with a single punch.Surprisingly though, this battle didn’t actually happen in the source material. To be more specific, Monster King Orochi and the large number of monsters that participated in the war were only added in the manga, which increased the scale of the clash between the two factions.

7. The king didn’t kill any monster with just fear in the OPM webcomic

King may be basking in the glory, but any One-Punch Man reader knows that the S-Class hero is useless in battle. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s useless in space. In fact, King’s funniest running gag is his King’s Engine – the sound it makes when he gets spooked. In one scene exclusive to the manga, this King’s Engine even helped the hero out. After one unfortunate encounter with a monster, the King’s Engine started up. The monster realized who the king was and was scared to death. It was the first time King had actually killed a monster, and the scene would forever be remembered as his most epic moment.

8. Monster Cells are only in the manga

One effective way the Monster Association increased its numbers for war was through the use of Monster Cells. By feeding them to humans, they easily turned them into monsters, giving them greater strength and power. There were even notable figures who volunteered to join the cause. However, Monster Cells was not part of the webcomic. There were many ways to turn into a monster in the source material, but consuming the monster’s cells was not one of them. It was perhaps added just to increase monster ranks quickly.

9. Webcomic OPM gives black sperm a multicellular form of sperm

Golden-Sperm

Black Spermatozoon was one of the most iconic managers of the Monster Association, especially with his various forms. Interestingly, the monster somehow survived the chaos and even managed to be adopted by Saitama. However, there is one form that is unique to the webcomic. The webcomic features the Multicell Sperm form, which was the result of the fusion of a million Black Sperm. This was the form before reaching the Golden Sperm. The manga skipped this form entirely and went straight to Golden Spermatozoon.

10.Saitama and the Underground Gang did not meet with an explosion in the OPM webcomic

Blast-Warp-One-Punch-v1-1

The trio of Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Oculette captivated One-Punch Man readers with their unexpected chemistry. They went deeper into the Monster Association headquarters, even discovering God. When they did, they were raised by Blast. However, in the OPM webcomic, only Flashy Flash and Saitama made it to the depths. And the one who took them out wasn’t hero #1,but the lovable Puri-Puri Prisoner.
