SUMMARY
In One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 10 (aka, Episode 22), “Justice Under Siege,” the Monster Association makes its move. They offer a faux-proposal to the Hero Association executives, but both sides are not negotiating in good faith. What is the real plan of the Monster Association? What is the purpose of the Hero Association? Meanwhile, Garou wakes up and wonders how King defeated him so handily. He hides to heal, but unaware that the Death Gatling saw him and formed a squad to go after him. Can the heavily wounded Garou fend off several powerful heroes who follow a clear and disciplined leader? And most importantly, will Saitama get the garbage in time for the garbage truck?
Best Moment
I don’t want to take anything away from some memorable moments in this episode. For example, in the beginning King and Saitama were playing a video game and King’s character was a bunny girl with pink hair. He consistently defeats Saitama’s character, which is this huge hulking monster! Another fun moment was the Monster Association’s fake offer to live with the Heroes. That was pretty funny (5:32) — and in keeping with the characters. The fight at the end between Gara and the Death Gatling Squad was particularly good.But my favorite moment in this episode? It wasn’t one of them. No, my favorite moment was when Saitama accidentally destroyed the new wave of Monsters Association recruits.
After hearing the leaked news about the hostage situation, many monsters headed to the abandoned city where the Monster Association was hanging out. It was their misfortune to meet Saitama as he was trying to take out his trash. He was late for the garbage truck! The footage was dramatic: a growing horde of monsters headed down the street. Various deep voices said that the message was not just for humans. “He also talks to us” (13:50). They all wanted to join the Monster Association so they could “…wipe out those bastard heroes”. A red gloved fist appeared briefly on the screen and then all the monsters were suddenly dead and broken all over the street. And buildings. And utility poles.Yes, I’m enjoying this season, and yes, there were fun moments in this episode other than this one. But for whatever reason, I still can’t get enough of Saitama just being Saitama.
