The One-Punch Man manga has been steadily setting the stage for a big new saga for the series after the events of the Monster Association Saga, and the latest chapter of One-Punch Man sparked a big cover plot with Fubuki and Tatsumaki. at the center of it all. One-Punch Man shows off a new side to the Psychic Sisters with their latest arc as Saitama and the Hero Association adjust to their new status quo after everything that happened fighting the Monster Association. But a secret new group decided to make their move in the chaos.
While Tatsumaki and Fubuki grew weary of Tsukuyomi’s mysterious group of psychics trying to penetrate the weak points of the Hero Association, Tatsumaki ended up doing the most damage as the fight against Saitama was more savage than expected. As a result, the civilians in the area were terrified as the Hero Association’s new base was supposed to be safe. But with Fubuki using Tatsumaki’s name as leverage, they were able to cover things up.
What is One-Punch Man’s Big Cover Up?
One-Punch Man Chapter 181 sees the rest of the heroes discover that the Hero Association has been keeping tons of high-level monsters in their basement both for Metal Knight’s experiments and to sell to other organizations. Fubuki then takes advantage of the fact that the Hero Association would like to keep it a secret by telling them to use the remains of the monsters that were left (after Saitama easily killed them all) to tell the public that the fight and the damage Tatsumaki caused was actually a hero fighting against an army of high level monsters alone.
The Hero Association ends up agreeing to this, because while it means overlooking Tatsumaki’s rampage, it would also be a story that would make the investors in their base feel much safer (and therefore line the Hero Association’s pockets more). The damage was estimated at tens of billions of yen (which Saitama is happy to let Tatsumaki take credit for to avoid such a high fee), but the Child Emperor discovers as the chapter draws to a close that it was all a cover-up.
