One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 12

SUMMARY

In One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 12 (aka, Episode 24), “The Wiping of the Disciple’s Butt”, we rejoin the action after Bang and his brother Bomb have arrived to finish off the fight with Gara – a fight started by Genos . Garou was already injured; what possible hope does he have against S class Bang and Bomb? Will the Monster Association stand on the sidelines or get involved? And is Saitama done playing video games?

Best Moment

Well, he’s the main character! Of course my final favorite moment of the season would be his punch! Catch from the Hulu stream. It had to happen, you know. I think the show is named after Saitama’s move. Sooner or later (in this case, later!) we should have gotten a great example of what he does so well. They did a near perfect job of setting it up this episode.I was reminded of Centichor (The Elder Centipede) from episode 4 (aka 16). He was insanely powerful then; he’s insanely powerful now. It was great to see Bang and Bomb’s dual powers combine to face the monster head on. It was also great to see how stunned they were when their move didn’t work. Genos saved them, and humiliated that even he couldn’t defeat the monster, he tried something desperate: he flew into the monster and detonated the weapon inside. For a moment it looked like he might triumph. But no – the monster was just too strong.

Well, he was too strong for most of them. But not for Saitama. Remember how he said at the end of the previous episode that he should probably go check on his pupil? Now he did. He and King came up with a plan to get the Centichor to attack in a specific spot – the spot where Saitama planned to jump out at the last second when the monster tried to kill King.In terms of brute strength, these two practically qualify as “monsters”. But they couldn’t stop Centichor. Catch from the Hulu stream. What made this moment so amazing was the construction.

We’ve seen the Garou’s power all season; Bang pretty much beat him. Genos also introduced the Garou to a world of harm. Bombard? He is pretty much legendary. Seeing how the three were completely unable to stop Centichor showed just how much of a threat this monster was.Saitama jumped at the last moment. He was completely focused on winding up and landing the punch. When he joined, Centichoro disintegrated. It was the punch I had been waiting for all season and it was worth it.King receives an honorable mention for the faith he showed in Saitama. He just stood there waiting for Centichorus to attack. Sure, he panicked at the end, but he’s the king! Of course she panics!
